APS Electric Light Parade – December 3, 2011

The APS Electric Light Parade celebrates 25 years featuring more than 60 lighted entries that include floats, marching bands, performers and vintage cars through midtown Phoenix.

The theme is “Silver Bells: 25 Years of Tradition.” The parade will commemorate the Arizona Centennial by inviting Centennial representatives from Phoenix’s Human Services Department to act as grand marshals and lead the parade.

The parade starts at 7 p.m., but spectators are encouraged to arrive early to claim a spot and can bring chairs, blankets, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Those who can’t attend can watch the parade at 4p.m. Sunday on Channel15 (KNXV).

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

Where: Parade route runs along Central Avenue from Montebello Avenue to Camelback Road and then heads east on Camelback to Seventh Street where it heads south to Indian School Road.

Admission: Free.
