Most anyone that knows me, knows that I’m an avid Harley Davidson fan! I’ve been a Harley rider/passenger for many years but in 2009 I had the good fortune to buy my very own 2001 Fat Boy (Heritage look) and have been learning to ride all last year!

I’ve met and road with some wonderful people. One day, I have hopes to put together all my rides, photos together for all to view! You can see several photos on my Facebook page!

But for this weekend, if you don’t have something going Saturday, August 28, 2010 you should stop into Chester’s Harley Davidson dealership to check out the 2011 New Harley’s and grab some free food!

August 28th, 2010 between 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM there will be FREE lunch, demo rides, a fashion show at 1:00 PM! United Blood is getting involved and doing a blood drive from 10:30 am – 2:30 am!

There will be live music by Holly Kirsten, she is great!

#3 – Phoenix Art Museum – PhxArtKids Day

The Phoenix Art Museum in Phoenix introduces children to the fine arts. Lots of workshops and classes for children to participate in creating different types of artwork.

The PhxArtKids Day is designed for children ages 5 – 12 and their adult companions. Included with general admission.

All That Jazz on August 28, 2010 from Noon – 3pm is open to all ages for this event.

Bring the kids on out to the PhxArtKids Day to discover the world of Cézanne and his admirers as you make prints, create miniature paintings and enjoy jazz music by The Tommy Eggleston Band.

#2 – Arizona Museum For Youth “Play Ball” – Mesa, Arizona

The Play Ball exhibition is open at the Arizona Museum for Youth. The City of Mesa, which owns the youth-oriented museum, and the Mesa Historical Museum, which owns rights to the Cactus League history project are partnered to run the Play Ball: The Cactus League Experience show now until November 7, 2010.

It’s been pretty successful as this is it’s second season here in the Valley of the Sun. Plans are already underway for its third season in 2011, likely to include taking the show on the road to the home cities of all 15 Major League teams that warm up each spring in Arizona.

Baseball has deep roots in Arizona dating back to 1909. Chicago’s White Stockings (White Sox) are the first Major League team to play in Arizona.

The Cactus League has grown since the inauguration in 1947. The Arizona Museum for Youth has the history of the Cactus League on display. The interactive and educational exhibition will treat visitors with stories about the players, teams and ball parks.

The kids are able to dress up as their favorite baseball player and practice their swing, design their own pennant, construct a 3-D puzzle and more. The impressive artifacts and nostalgia feel will intrigue young and old. Be sure to add the Play Ball exhibition to your calendar before November 7, 2010.

House Passes Homebuyer Tax Credit Extension

With the deadline looming, the House passed 409-5 a bill to give homebuyers an extra three months to take advantage of a federal tax credit.

Homebuyers who qualified for the credit could have until September 30 — instead of June 30 — to close on their purchases. The tax credit, which required buyers to sign a contract on a home by April 30, provides homebuyers with a tax write-off of as much as $8,000.

The Senate could vote on the bill, HR 5623, as soon as tomorrow before the July 4th holiday. Read full story here

NOTE: It still has to pass in the Senate and be signed by the President in order for the bill to become law.
