# 25 – Town of Gilbert 911 Memorial Fundraiser – May 27, 2011

The Town of Gilbert has acquired an eight foot long, 1,500 pound beam from the World Trade Center, from the New York City Port Authority.

Gilbert is one of two municipalities in Arizona that received an artifact from the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center tragedy.

With the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist act that killed almost 3,000 people rapidly approaching, a community committee has been organized to help raise funds to build a Gilbert 9/11 Memorial to hold this precious steel beam.

So our friends over at Freddy’s Frozen Custards are participating in Gilbert, Arizona 911 Memorial Fundraiser.
